Zumbs’ Smaller Condition Effect On Item Value

Posted by Zumbs on September 16, 2010

Version: 1.0

This mod changes the way condition impacts the value of an inventory item, such as a weapon or an armor, so that the condition has a smaller influence on the value of an inventory item.

In vanilla Fallout 3, an item at zero health had no value (even if it could be scavanged for parts), at 50% health it was worth 35% of its base value, and at 100% its full base value, corresponding to the formula:

% of base value = 100 * healthPercent^1.5

Note how particularly the higher health percentages yield quite a change in value.

This mod changes that, so the condition of an item plays a much smaller role in its value. At zero health, the item will be worth 10% of its base value. At 50% health it is worth 35% of its base value, and at 100% it is worth 60% of its base value, corresponding to the formula:

% of base value = 10 + 50 * healthPercent

You may ask why it maxes out at 60% value. The reason is balance. Having it max out later would make every weapon and armor much more valuable. As an example, letting it max out at 80% would cause 50% health to give 50% of the base value, effectively increasing the value by 43%.

At time of writing this is compatible with MMM and FWE (both in version 6). I have no idea if it is compatible with other overhauls like FOOK or Arwens Realism Tweeks.

Zumbs’ Improved Sniper Shack Home

Posted by Zumbs on August 24, 2010

Version: 1.0

This mod adds some options to customize the Sniper Shack, which can be found to the west of Rockbreaker’s Last Gas.

A map marker has been added so that the house is more accessable. For your sanitary needs, an outhouse has been added outside the house. Electric light can be added to the house by fixing the power generator outside the house.

The insides can be cleaned up by activating the broom. This includes removal of paper, milk crates and cleaning up the cage. The removed items can be readded by activating the broom. The pets, Fluffy and Jitters, do not respawn.

This mod does not add loot, nor does it edit any containers. The slideshow below shows screenshots of how the mod looks. A gallery of the screenshots used can be found below.

Zumbs’ Wearable Cigarettes, Cheroots and Cigars

Posted by Zumbs on January 12, 2010

Version: 1.0

This mod adds wearable cigarettes, cheroots and cigars to the game. The smokes can be purchased from a number of general merchants across the Fallout 3 world, such as Moira, Bannon, Lydia and Crow. The equipable smokes can be found in the appearal section of the Pip boy.

You can also purchase a Lighter that can be used to get the PC to play the smoke animation. To get the animation to play, equip the smoke that you wish to use, and the lighter (it will unequip itself, don’t be alarmed). Close the Pip boy, and go to 3rd person, where you will be able to see your character smoking the smoke. The smoking can be stopped by going to first person.

Using the smokes has no effect on the player other than being purely cosmetic.

LIMITATION: The smokes are not conformulated and will not look good on all characters. I tried to conformulate them, but it just made them fit worse, and after hours of work, I gave up. If they do not fit with your character, extract the bsa to your Fallout 3/Data (FOMM can do that for you) and open wearablecigar01.nif and/or wearablecigarette01.nif in NifScope. The cigarettes can be moved up and down by clicking the cigarette and edit the x value of the Translation field (check out screenshot).

The smoking animation should look nice for all characters. More screenshots below.

Zumbs’ Console Mod

Posted by Zumbs on November 26, 2009

Version: 1.0

Wearing the console goggles

Wearing the console goggles

Introduction

This mod adds a set of goggles to the players inventory that allows the player to open the console by equipping the goggles. It is intended for people that are unable to open the console by conventional means, and have tried the recommendations on http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Console#Bugs, such as disabling the IR drivers.

When you load up the mod, a pair of “Console Goggles” is added to your inventory (for a new game, they are added after Amata has spoken to you during the Escape). Equipping them opens the console. It is recommended to hotkey them as this allows you to open the console with your pipboy closed.

This mod is a remake of VISTA Console Mod by Rapier_21. The reason for a remake is to increase compatiblity and ease of use (this mod comes as a FOMOD ready archive).
